When a check fails, the site first repairs what it can (re-pulls the federal record, clears a bad cache, re-resolves the email sender) and re-tests. The owner is emailed only if that repair did not work — once — and once more when it recovers. One daily email confirms everything passed; that email is itself the last check. What this cannot catch: the whole server being offline. Only an outside watcher can see that.
