  Method fix found while publishing recipient identity: USAspending's recipient name search returns every registrant whose name contains the searched words, so the open-award count under one company added up awards held by other SAM registrants — e.g. 'Maximus Federal Services, Inc.' showed 38 open awards that included Veterans Evaluation Services, Inc. and Maximus Media Inc.
