No signal? Dead-zone backstop

  1. Tap SOS anyway — the one-tap text message still sends on cellular even when mobile data is down.
  2. If there's no cell at all, use your phone's built-in Emergency SOS via satellite (iPhone 14+ or newer Android) — it works with a clear view of the sky.
  3. On long-haul dead-zone routes, carry a satellite messenger (Garmin inReach, Zoleo) as a backup.
  4. Always: if you're in danger and can reach any network, call 911.

Guardian runs in your browser, so it needs a signal to alert your contacts. Satellite SOS is your phone's own feature — this is how to use it as a backstop.

Walk with me

Start a check-in. If you don't tap "I'm safe" in time, your contacts are alerted automatically.

You & your circle

Changes save automatically on this device.

Circles

A shared group that watches out for each other — family, a support group, church, or an elderly loved one's care circle. An alert reaches everyone at once.

Say it in any language

Type what you need to say and get it in another language — to talk with a responder, a hotline, or someone helping you.

Guardian is not an emergency service and cannot dial 911 for you — in danger, tap Call 911. It runs on this device; your contacts and trips are stored so we can alert your people. Alerts go by email now; automatic text is coming.
